You’ve built something that matters. A clinic, a team, a reputation. We’re not here to erase it. We’re here to keep it going the right way.

Your Legacy Deserves More Than a Corporate Buyout

building something that outgrew one set of hands.

Hear from Dr. Katie Miller, a vet who’s been in your shoes,

You didn’t build this practice for a quick payout.

You built it for your clients, your community, and the people who’ve stood beside you for decades.

You’ve stayed late, made payroll work when it shouldn’t have, and carried the weight of an entire business on your back, because you care.

You’re proud of what you built. You should be.

Now, you just want to know it’ll be in good hands.

That’s where we come in.

We See You. And We Get It.

TEAM FIRST

What Makes RKMM Different?

| EK-suh-luhns | n.

We give a shit. About the medicine. About the animals. About each other. We want things done right. Not perfect, but right. That means showing up, paying attention, and caring enough to keep learning.

Excellence

| l-eye-f  buh-AHND  wuh-ur-k | n.

We built this so we could have a life outside of it. That goes for our teams too. People should be able to go home, take a weekend, have dinner with their family without feeling guilty. Work matters - but it’s not everything. And it shouldn’t take everything from you.

Life Beyond Work

| tran-SPARE-en-see | n.

We talk about what’s going on. If something’s hard, we don’t hide it. If something’s not working, we fix it. No pretending, no sweeping things under the rug. People deserve to know what’s happening around them. That’s how trust is built.

Transparency:

| aw-TAH-nuh-mee | n.

We don’t micromanage. We’ve got systems and structure, sure, but we also trust people to do what they’re good at. We want every clinic and every team member to feel like they have a say in how things run. When you feel like it’s yours, you take better care of it.

Autonomy:

| aw-then-tis-uh-tee | n.

We’re not here to play corporate. This place shouldn’t feel cold or forced. We’re real people, doing real work, and we do it better when we don’t have to pretend. No one’s putting on a show. You get to be yourself here. That’s how we like it. That’s how people grow.

FAQ

Q

How does RKMM handle transitions for existing staff?

Well, I’d be lying if I said we have this all figured out. But maybe that’s the point. There’s no one right way to do this. Autonomy matters. We’re not corporate and this isn’t a “our way or the highway” situation.

Most transitions look like on site support while everyone adjusts to new software, new processes, and the small day to day questions that come with change. We keep steady check ins for team support, problem solving, and celebrating wins. Because finding the wins is how you get through the hard days until things feel easier again.

Real story? This work can be tough. But you won’t be doing it alone. We’ll be here to hold each other up.

Q

Will my clinic name change?

We want to marry the names. This is a partnership not a takeover. So probably this will look something like, Rocking KM Potwin (or insert your name here). We want to represent it’s part of our family, but also not completely overhaul the identity.

Q

What does the financial process look like?

Every sale looks a little different, and we’re not here to force anyone into a one size fits all structure. We want this to work for you too. Big decisions like this deserve options that make sense for your life, your goals, and your future.

For some sellers, that means a simple one time payment for the practice and real estate. For others, seller financing makes more sense for tax benefits or long term structure. We’re open to both.

The short answer?
We’ll walk through your numbers together, explore the options, and build something that supports you while setting the practice up for a strong future.

Let’s talk through what’s best for you and what feels right for your transition.

Q

How involved will I be after the sale?

I hope intimately. Yes, new RKM standards and processes will be implemented, but we don’t know your team or your clients the way you do. And we genuinely want your input. In the beginning, there’s a lot of change. We standardize what we can to reduce errors, but sometimes what works at one clinic just doesn’t work at yours. And I get that.

We want your perspective so we can blend what already works with what will support your team best moving forward.

Q

How do you maintain the clinic’s reputation and client relationships?

If the clinic’s reputation is strong and your client relationships are solid, that’s exactly why RKM was interested in your practice. It’s important that those connections stay intact. We know we won’t ever be you, but our goal is to build on the foundation you’ve already created and grow new relationships out of the trust you spent years building.

This is a part of the process that we take SO seriously!

Q

What kind of support does RKMM provide to existing teams?

Systems matter. If a system doesn’t work, it’s not a good one. We build structure that fits your practice, not something forced. Follow up usually looks like scheduled check ins based on your needs, plus on site support early on to help everyone adjust.

We also use a “clarity chart,” a simple guide for who to go to with what. It’s not micromanaging. It prevents bottlenecks and gives your team direction. Most clinics have been wanting this kind of structure, and when it’s in place, the reaction is usually “finally.”

For example, in a recent transition at our Potwin location, I’m there twice a month with one virtual check in, and Stacy and Kara are on site weekly. It’s a layered system that keeps things moving and supports the team while still offering autonomy.

This doesn’t have to be the end of your story. It can be the next chapter.

If you’re ready to slow down, step back, or simply make sure your life’s work ends up in the right hands, let’s talk.

No pressure. No corporate jargon. Just a real conversation with people who get it.
