We’re building a new standard for rural veterinary medicine. One where you’re trusted, supported, and proud of the work you do every day.
The RKM culture:
Work Somewhere That Still Feels Human
Hear what it feels like to work in a clinic that still believes joy, laughter, and good medicine can exist in the same building.
What Makes RKMM Different?
| EK-suh-luhns | n.
We give a shit. About the medicine. About the animals. About each other. We want things done right. Not perfect, but right. That means showing up, paying attention, and caring enough to keep learning.
Excellence
| l-eye-f buh-AHND wuh-ur-k | n.
We built this so we could have a life outside of it. That goes for our teams too. People should be able to go home, take a weekend, have dinner with their family without feeling guilty. Work matters - but it’s not everything. And it shouldn’t take everything from you.
Life Beyond Work
| tran-SPARE-en-see | n.
We talk about what’s going on. If something’s hard, we don’t hide it. If something’s not working, we fix it. No pretending, no sweeping things under the rug. People deserve to know what’s happening around them. That’s how trust is built.
Transparency:
| aw-TAH-nuh-mee | n.
We don’t micromanage. We’ve got systems and structure, sure, but we also trust people to do what they’re good at. We want every clinic and every team member to feel like they have a say in how things run. When you feel like it’s yours, you take better care of it.
Autonomy:
| aw-then-tis-uh-tee | n.
We’re not here to play corporate. This place shouldn’t feel cold or forced. We’re real people, doing real work, and we do it better when we don’t have to pretend. No one’s putting on a show. You get to be yourself here. That’s how we like it. That’s how people grow.
Authenticity:
A Team That
Feels Like One
We’re not fancy - we’re family.
We take our work seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.
Because good medicine and good humor go hand in hand.
If you can roll with a little chaos, keep a straight face while pulling a calf, and still find joy in the mess, then you’ll fit right in.
1. Techs who can juggle a syringe, a halter, and a sarcastic comment — at the same time.
2. Doctors who actually listen (and occasionally swear under their breath like the rest of us).
3. Assistants who somehow always know where the thing you lost is.
4. Leaders who don’t hide in offices when things get busy.
5. Rattles - the clinic cat who technically runs the place and refuses to be managed.
We don’t hire “warm bodies.” We hire people who care.
We celebrate wins, survive the wild days, and find a way to laugh through the chaos (usually right after someone get covered in cow shit).
The kind of humans who show up, pitch in, and still find something to laugh about on the longest days.

Q
What if I don’t have experience in vet med?
That’s okay. It depends on the position, but we train the right people. Most of our current team came in with zero veterinary experience. People matter. Values matter. Skills can be taught.

Q
Is there room for growth?
Abso.fricken.lutely. Every member of our management team and every team lead started from within. We promote people who show up, care, and crush it.

Q
Do I have to live locally?
Usually, but not always. We have several virtual team members because quality vet med takes a lot of behind the scenes work. If your role is in clinic, we need you close enough to be accessible. Some of our team drives up to an hour to work with us. That should tell you something.
