EQUINE Veterinarian
Rocking KM Council Grove is ready to add an equine veterinarian who wants more than a job. We’re looking for someone who wants to build something meaningful within a community that lives and breathes horses. This role focuses primarily on equine sports medicine and internal medicine, with a small amount of mixed animal work tied to on call coverage.
You’ll step into a busy, well equipped clinic with digital x ray, ultrasound, and in house lab capabilities. Our performance horse caseload includes ranch horses, pasture companions, and a growing gaited horse population. You’ll collaborate with a strong support staff and mixed animal team, while helping build and shape our equine surgical program currently in development. We’re ready for the right doctor to take the lead in shaping the future of equine medicine at RKM.
Position Overview:
CLINICAL CONFIDENCE: A strong foundation in small animal preventative medicine, diagnostics, and surgery. Open to unique cases and willing to ask questions. Bonus if you enjoy treating turtles.
GROWTH MINDSET: Demonstrates curiosity and a desire to keep learning. Potwin is expanding, and we want someone ready to grow with the clinic and contribute to its future.
COMMUNITY CARE: Shows genuine care for clients and the community we serve. Values clear communication and patient education. Builds trust through honesty and compassion.
COLLABORATION: Comfortable working with a supportive team, including technicians, assistants, and associate doctors across both locations. Willing to share knowledge and ask for help when needed.
PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY: Thinks critically and adapts well when cases are complex or resources are limited. Approaches challenges with curiosity and a solutions focused mindset.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong, clear communication with clients and team members. Our community trusts us because we take the time to educate, explain, and listen. We are looking for someone who builds relationships through honesty, empathy, and consistent follow through.
COMMITMENT TO LEARNING: A genuine desire to keep growing as a practitioner. You take CE seriously. You ask questions. You enjoy mentorship and collaboration. You’re energized by new cases and new skills and want a clinic that supports your growth rather than limits it.
PERSONAL QUALITIES: Reliable, grounded, and steady under pressure. Compassion for horses and their people matters here. So does integrity. We want someone who shows up fully for both.
TEAMWORK AND ADAPTABILITY: Comfortable collaborating across departments and working within a team that values communication and shared responsibility. Able to adjust to changing caseloads and community needs.
